A rising trend amongst our customers here in the UK, and also in the USA and our other global locations is the idea of using the engraving facility to propose when buying a stethoscope for your significant other.
When it comes to an unusual and unique way to ask your loved one in the medical profession to marry you, we are finding this is an special and increasingly popular method by which to pop the question. Around ten of our consumers from across the world have decided on this distinctive way to ask their partner to marry them. And usually they let us know the outcome. Happily in all cases a “yes”. Whether this is because the beneficiary is enthralled by the loving gesture and cannot resist we can only speculate!
Besides some funny and curious names, and the intermittent “Happy Birthday” and “Good Luck” messages, the “Will You Marry Me?” in its variety of incarnations and languages has recently grown in popularity at times of importance such as anniversaries, birthdays and Valentine’s day we inevitably envisage a peak in popularity. Unsurprisingly, it is the Littmann Stethoscope which is the preferred choice and add our symbol engraving such as hearts or stars into the mix and you have one distinctive stethoscope! Some also choose a finish or colour which might signify something special or significant to their other half.

On Tuesday 22nd May 2012, Medisave were delighted to support Riester at the British Hypertension Society Clinical Education Meeting for Primary care at the Institute of Child Health in London. Intending to support best practice and successful implementation of evidence based management and guidelines, the meeting has attracted over 1,400 GP’s Primary Care Cardiovascular leads, Lead pharmacists and nurses.
The programme was based on new developments in the assessment and treatment of hypertension in the community and aimed to consider pragmatic approaches to reducing cardiovascular disease and to achieve targets, including recent advice regarding use of ambulatory monitors.
In the afternoon Professor of Primary Care Research Richard McManus of the University of Oxford discussed the merits of ambulatory blood pressure monitoring in Primary Care. Alongside demonstrating Riester aneroid sphygmomanometers like the new E-Mega and diagnostic products such as the Ri-LED, a keen interest was shown in the ambulatory monitors such as the Omron M24/7, the A&D ABPM TM-2430 and the Welch Allyn 6100s – particularly in the wake of the recently released NICE Hypertension guidelines advising each GP surgery to keep at least one ABPM monitor in situ. It also gave us a chance meet with the makers of the revolutionary ABPM device the BPro Wrist ABPM with Software which proved a big success with the delegates and an item which we now are pleased to stock and sell. All in all a successful day for Riester and Medisave and the opportunity to discuss current recommendations and procedures with those at the forefront of the latest assessments.
